What are digitals?
-
Digitals are updated photos of a model to currently show what he/she/they look naturally like without any makeup, styling, or retouching. They're typically shot against a white or neutral backdrop. Several shots are taken of the model to show what they look like from different angles (close-up, full-length, side view, etc.)
-
Digitals are usually updated every few months and are especially important if a model's physical appearance has changed, such as a new hair color/style or clothing size
What should I wear?
-
Plain black or grey form-fitting clothing should be worn
-
Women can wear a t-shirt or tank top with jeans or leggings; a black bikini and black heels are recommended for swimsuit digitals
-
Men can wear form-fitting jeans and a form-fitting top
-
No accessories (earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, or jewelry)
What about makeup and hair?
-
No makeup or excessive hair styling is allowed for digitals, although a small amount of concealer or lip balm can be worn
-
Hair should be clean and naturally styled
-
Please ensure your finger and toenails are clean
-
A nude or clear color polish will do! Refrain from fake nails and bright colors
What types of expressions and poses are best?
-
However you naturally present yourself is perfect! Whether you're the smiley, shy, or serious type, whatever feels best to you will reflect your personality and modeling well 😊
Are digitals retouched?
-
Digitals are NOT retouched. No skin retouching is done to any of the photos in order to accurately show what a model naturally looks like. However, some photo editing is still done to digitials, such as lens calibration, color correction/balance, exposure, shadows, and highlights
